Bardvark Student Newspaper

The Bardvark is the official student newspaper of BHSEC Manhattan. The newspaper is 13 years old this year. Students from all class years contribute.

Literary Magazine

We read and review submissions of both poetry and prose, as well as comics and photographs.

Robotics Club

BHSEC Robotics Team at the city qualifier. They won a Judges Award. Their robot is named Tobotus.

Debate Club

The Debate team is open to all.  Members compete in the Public Forum Debate as part of the Urban Debate League, as well as in National Circuit debate tournaments.

Bardmaticians Math Club

BHSEC’s Math Team represents BHSEC citywide in math competitions.

Philosophy Club

Philosophy club offers the opportunity to practice philosophy with fellow students once a week after school. Each week in Philosophy club, a student volunteers beforehand to present a philosophical dilemma for group discussion.

SCRAP Art Magazine

Scrap is a student-funded, student organized art magazine comprised of student artwork.

Ultimate Frisbee Club

Chess Club

In Chess Club we learn, practice, and play chess. Our focus is on having relaxed fun, but we will also be entering tournaments as a team this year.

Model United Nations Club

Model United Nations is an educational simulation of the United Nations. Schools from all around the country attend conferences to discuss issues related to diplomacy and international relations.
